Update to my Inner Health Circle™ Members
I will be incorporating two new article sections along with my usual Eat Right, Think Right, Move Right sections of my Health Hints™ Newsletter for 2009. These two article sections will be the "Organic Corner" and the "Cancer Corner", which will appear on an intermittent basis. I have decided to incorporate these 2 new sections in part due to the response from our last reader survey. I also believe that these two fields of interest have some overlap, and unfortunately (at least relative to the latter subject) are affecting more and more of my subscribers' lives, as well as the lives of more people in the general population. I hope that you will all enjoy this additional information, but more importantly I hope that you will add some of these life changing and often times life saving pieces of cutting edge information into your daily routines.
Once again I would like to Thank You for your continued interest in changing your Belief Systems and your Life for the Better!
Dr. Pfeiffer is serving as a board member of the Palmer College of Chiropractic Alumni Association.

Eat Right: The Basics
In a recent edition of Health Hints™ I discussed inflammatory foods that you should avoid and why. Today I need to give you some guidance on what you should eat. First let's start by understanding that the average person (none of you is) consumes 10% of calories from dairy (and this is not Raw Dairy), a whopping 20% from refined sugar, 20% from refined grains, and another 20% from refined oils (remember this is usually corn oil, which is a grain not a vegetable), and another 2% from alcohol (this should be in the form of red wine if you are going to drink).
So, here is the equation for what you should eat. A full 80 to 100% of your caloric intake should be from vegetables and fruits (preferably raw, meaning uncooked), raw nuts, and lean Omega 3 (meaning grass fed, not grain fed) meat. This includes fish, lean meat, wild game, and Omega 3 eggs. Don't forget the organic butter and spices. Virtually all spices are anti-inflammatory. I do not include salt in my list of spices. I do include such things as garlic (plenty of it), curcumin, oregano, ginger, and any other spice that you can think of. Don't forget the extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil. Cook with the coconut oil and use the olive oil unheated on salads etc.
Have fun with this and don't make it a chore. By changing your belief system about what is food and what is poison this is easy. Don't be a Food Nazi either. If you get 80 to 90% of your dietary intake from these foods then go a little crazy with the other 10 to 20%. You can eat a little from the Dark Side every now and then. You can believe me however when I tell you that as your belief system changes not only will you not be attracted to the really bad stuff. You will actually be repulsed by it!
So, keep up the Great Work! I truly do commend all of you for learning, studying, and applying this information. I am here to tell you that this will truly change your life for ever. Top of page

Cancer Corner: Your Genes
I have discussed the topic of genetics with many of my patients in both of my practices as well as in my Focus Health™ Seminar Series. Time and time again a subject that seems to confuse not only my patients, but many of my seminar attendees, is that of Gene Regulation. The reason I have decided to dedicate this Cancer Corner edition to this subject is that it is crucial that you understand and begin incorporating this concept into your belief system and your lifestyle.
Here is the simple explanation of Gene Regulation. First you must understand that just because you have a particular Gene, doesn't mean that you will express it. Gene Expression is dependant on a number of different criteria, not the least of which is your LIFESTYLE CHOICES. Correct or "Innately Congruent" (as my mentor Dr. Chestnut put it) lifestyle choices will down regulate or up regulate a particular gene. This is where I tend to lose my patients, students, and perhaps you! Don't let those uncommon terms throw you. Stick with me here on this very simple analogy. Think of a light switch. Doing the right things in your life will either turn a "Good Gene" on (turn the light switch on), or turn a "Bad Gene" off (turn the light switch off) O.K. so now lets put this concept into reality for you. Let's say that you have the "Breast Cancer Gene". Does that mean that you will automatically and definitely get breast cancer? Absolutely not! What it does mean is that if you do the "Wrong Things" relative to your Lifestyle Choices you can Up-Regulate (turn the light switch on) relative to this particular "bad gene". Equally, if you are blessed with this gene and are smart enough to do the "Right" things you can Down-Regulate (turn the light switch off) on this bad boy.
You see, the power is in your capable hands. You need to read, study, and apply the information that you acquire (such as this) into your belief system, and into your daily activities. Also make it your mission, as is mine, to share this information with as many of your friends and family as you can! Take a moment to forward this issue of Health Hints™ to everyone that you love, and care about. Top of page

The Doctor of the Future
Just a note about the class I attended in Harrisburg last month. First of all, Dr. White who practices in Dallas was GREAT. His passion for the Complimentary, and Alternative, Holistic, Wellness world rivals mine. It was invigorating to hear him! Here is just a sampling of some quotes that Dr. White shared in his lectures:
- Regarding our current medical system; "The chassis is broken, and the wheels are coming off." Andrew Weil, M.D.
- "If a nation expects to be uneducated and free, it expects what never was and what it will never be." Thomas Jefferson
- "Discovery consists of seeing what everyone else has seen, and thinking what no one else has thought!" Albert Szent-Giorgyi, 1937 (the discoverer of Vitamin C).
- Prevention: "All prevention is correcting disease processes before they manifest fully."
- "The Doctor of the Future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." Thomas A. Edison Top of page
