Day One of the Cleanse for Dr. P.

Center for Nutrition & Wellness™

I'm Doing "It"!

Yes Gang, I am doing the "Spring Cleaning Cleanse" with our group of 21 Cleansers. I haven't done a Cleanse for about 1 year although by most standards my normal diet is Great. I have to say though that the first day created some challenges even for me. My main issue was the fact that I normally consume a lot of food. Now don't get me wrong, on the Cleanse you can eat a lot, it just needs to be the "Right Stuff". Here is what I ate: One Greens First (our Organic Greens drink that we use at the Center) at about 6 a.m. I then had one of our S.P. Complete shakes, which is made with organic frozen berries, an organic banana, organic Flax oil and water. It really fills you up! Then I was off to the 5K at the Y to work in our booth where we saw and helped many runners. It was about 905K Upper Perk 2010degrees, and I must say that I definitely created some healthy Vitamin D. I ate an organic banana while I was at the race. I did postural analysis, weight distribution testing, and counseled many on nutrition. One of our local M.D.'s who I have known and enjoyed the company of for many years run in the race. Afterward, I did an analysis on her and counseled her about using our Innate Choice Omega 3 supplement since she was not using Omega 3 at all. I could tell by looking at her that she wasn't (as I can with most people). At any rate we helped a lot of folks and opened some eyes to a "Holistic New World". Then I loaded up all of our equipment and drove off to my office to unload. I took 5 loads of "stuff" (mainly heavy boxes) up 2 flights of stairs. I took the stairs 2 at a time. (Get exercise any way that you can with normal activities). I then drove home and took a quick ½ mile walk with my wife. By this time I was getting hungry again (understandably, I probably just burned up about 1 million calories). I was then off to a lunch meeting with Kim Fallon, our resident Personal Trainer and Health Hints™ Newsletter publisher. I was very impolite since I arrived at the meeting before Kim but I was hungry so I made my first trip to the salad bar before Kim arrived. I had a Great salad with a little vinegar as my dressing. I then ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. O.K. for my fellow Cleansers reading this who think that I really cheated I will let you know that I ordered the "sandwich" with no bun, no mayo, and no French fries. So, my "sandwich" consisted of a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, and a tomato. Then I went home did a little yard work, had another meeting with a contractor, and then cleaned up from the eventful day. I had another S.P. Complete Shake before my contractor meeting. Then it was off to get a birthday gift for my son Chris' girlfriend Suzanne. On the way we stopped for dinner. I had 2 grilled chicken breasts, mixed green vegetables and a sweet potato. Yes I did have a sweet potato on the Cleanse. I need to modify the Cleanse slightly due to my metabolism, and my body type. You see I have a very low body fat content, so I don't have a lot of reserves to use up. After shopping for about 1.5 hours it was time to go home. My nighttime snack was a grapefruit.

So you can see that while you are on the Cleanse you can eat a lot of food. It just needs to be the right type. You didn't see any bread, potatoes, beef, or  "bad fats" (No mayo on my "grilled chicken sandwich"). You will see as we go along that my energy level will go up even more, and believe me I have a pretty high energy level to begin with.

For those of you who didn't do the Cleanse this time for whatever reason or excuse, Do Not Delay! Reserve your spot for the Fall Cleanse Event!

Still not sure? Then read about what all of our past Cleansers had to say here. If you are a distance away (California, Texas, or Oshkosh by Gosh) don't fret we have had many "Long Distance Cleansers" who have been successful.

I will keep you posted as I move along through our "Spring Cleaning Cleanse".

Yours in health,

Dr. P.
