Our "Eat Right" and "Move Right" When Combined Have an Additive Effect!
I woke up this morning and read a research article that I have to share with you. The article, which was published in the most recent edition of the journal Nutrition and Metabolism, bears out once again what we have been living and teaching for years now, specifically that you can up-regulate (turn on) or down-regulate (turn off) certain genes simply by doing the right things. Can Calcium Help You Lose Weight?
A study I just read-published on July 10, 2010 in the journal Nutrition and Metabolism-indicates that calcium does help you lose weight. These researchers were looking to see if calcium supplementation had an effect on "the indices of obesity and body composition." What they found was amazing; not only is calcium and vitamin D supplementation essential for all women in order to stave off osteoporotic change, it also caused the "calcium intervention groups" to "gain less trunk fat, and maintain more trunk lean than the placebo group" (which received no calcium). read entire article

I had referenced this study a number of months ago. Aspecific chiropractic adjustment lowers blood pressure, AND NOT JUST A LITTLE!!!! I am proud to say that my alma-materPalmer College is spearheading this research study which has been funded by the National Institutes of Health. The study is a cooperative effort between the medical and chiropractic professions (Isn't that refreshing!) To have egos and personalities out of the way, and to just be able to focus on what is best for the patient. How unique is that? The future of true "Health Care" (not "disease and sickness care") is bright.

They are first to forgive others for things that they have "done to you in the past". This could mean to forgive a parent who is no longer here for something that they said 30 years ago that has stayed with you, and has haunted you every day ever since. It could mean something a teacher, friend, lover, or even a store clerk who you have never seen since said to or about you that has affected your "perspective" on life, or yourself ever since. You see my friends, these were just opinions of these individuals, not "the Truth", so you can let go of them, and move on with your life today, right now!
The other thing that you must do immediately is "Forgive Yourself". This one can be a little tougher because you live with YOU everyday. You can't get away from "YOU". You can however let go, forgive youself for whatever the little thing was that has haunted you perhaps for years. It's time, you deserve it so do it and be free.
Here is a link to some ideas that you can use to help you on your forgiveness quest. These pertain to how you may be beating yourself up about your appearence. Remember that "Beauty is much more than your appearance". I have met many truly beautiful people who would not necessarily be
categorized as attractive by the Glamour magazine editors, but what do they know? They might just like the air-brushed appearance of their models more than real beauty anyway.

Eat Right - continued

I have often referred to this "life-style" as the "Paleolithic Life-Style" because it is the way that our "Hunter Gatherer" ancestors lived.
These researchers were looking to see if by combining the "Move Right" (endurance exercise) and the "Eat Right" (calorie restriction) they could create an even stronger effect than what would be seen with either one of these congruent features on their own. The answer to this was not surprising to those of us who live in the G.C. world. The answer was a resounding YES!
While these researchers combined many variables, including a high fat diet with calorie restriction, a low fat diet with calorie restriction, and a high fat diet with both calorie restriction and exercise. The bottom line was that by combining calorie restriction and exercise the results were not only additive, but the findings were significant and some were unexpected. Individually, endurance exercise reduced high fat diet induced obesity, and calorie restriction "dramatically prevented high fat diet-induced metabolic abnormalities" (what I have referred to in the past as metabolic syndrome). By combining these two "Genetically Congruent" essentials, the results were magnified. In other words, by doing both the "Eat Right" and the "Move Right" together there was a further reduction in obesity. The researchers also found that this caused a reduction in "Insulin Resistance" (see a clip of my "Sugar and Diabetes" seminar here). They further found that by incorporating this "correct lifestyle" there was a reduction in "Inflammatory Cytokines", meaning that there was an overall reduction in "Inflammation" in the body. As you know from what I have discussed in past articles inflammation is the culprit for many disorders which plague our society today. Any condition which ends in the four letters "itis" is an inflammatory entity. Things such as "arthritis", "gingivitis", "endocarditis", "colitis", etc., etc., "ad infinitum".
So Gang, once again the research is validating our assertion, namely that you need to "Eat Right, Think Right, Move Right, and Sleep Right" in order to regain, and maintain your Health and Wellness! next article

This study indicates that it is vitally important for all women, and many men, to supplement with calcium. Before you go out and buy your calcium, consider what I have said over and over to our Silver Inner Health Circle members for years now: you get what you pay for with supplements. This theory applies to calcium supplements just as much as any other supplement you buy.
Calcium is a mineral which is deficient in most Americans' diets, since our soils have been depleted of most naturally occurring minerals. The problem is that most of the "inexpensive" (I call them what they are, "cheap") calcium supplements are made from Calcium Carbonate-a very plentiful and inexpensive form of calcium. Calcium Carbonate is what you may remember as a child being used on the black board, or perhaps you, like myself, had to stay after school to "clap" this substance off of the erasers (I know I am dating myself and that there are many subscribers out there who have no idea what I am talking about).
Okay, I will let those of you who didn't have those experiences in on our secret: calcium carbonate is also known as chalk. It is also an alkaline or basic form of calcium form a pH standpoint. The problem here is that calcium requires an acidic environment in which to be absorbed. By taking calcium carbonate as your source of calcium, you are neutralizing "stomach acid," therefore you will not absorb the calcium that you take in very well. For this reason, the calcium that you take in should be in an acidic form such asCalcium Citrate.
So, you all now have another reason to take your Calcium supplement. Not only will the supplement (along with a good source of Vitamin D) help you in warding off the adverse events associated with osteoporosis, but you will also have the added benefit of "gaining less trunk fat." next article
