I currently drink an "SP Complete Shake" virtually every day. I drink my Greens First one to three times per day. I eat as organic, range fed, fresh caught, antibiotic/hormone, and GMO free as I can. I do however eat lunch out often and here is where I have no control over the above, therefore I will attempt to limit this as much as possible.
I plan to begin this year by not only leading our New Years Cleanse, but also by being a participant in it. So my New Year will start off with a detoxified liver, bowel, and a full system cellular detoxification as well.
I also want you to know that I am not only a clinician at the Center for Nutrition and Wellness, but I am also a patient. I go through myself what every patient in the Center goes through. I have my program checked regularly using Nutrition Response Testing™ and all of the other testing that we perform at the Center. I take my organic whole food supplementation in order to compensate for my "Deficiencies and or Toxicities". I will continue to undergo all of our procedures we perform on all of our patients, and utilize our "targeted functional nutrition" in order to maintain purity and sufficiency in my system as well.
I cannot ask others to do what I am unwilling to do, therefore I will continue to practice my own personal "Eat Right", and I hope that you will too.
We all have experienced significant stressors on our lives this past year: whether it was with our health or that of a loved one, a loss of a job or a relationship, or a loved one, or a financial stressor. All of these issues can create emotional turmoil in your life, and have both negative impacts on you not only psychologically but physically and physiologically as well. I have done my best in not only my professional career, but also over my entire lifetime to prepare myself to be able to deal with whatever life had to throw at me. I have also attempted to impart as much of this knowledge to you as I can to help you all "Think Right" so that when these times arise (and they certainly will) you can "handle" them and move forward with your life in a positive way. (Check out a clip here from my most recent Stress Seminar for employees of one of the country's largest furniture manufacturers). Get a copy of Dr. Pfeiffer's "Stress! How It's Killing You" DVD, click here.
Have I had "crazy stressors" like those that I outlined to you above occur in my life this past year? You bet I have. My father, who as most of you long term members know suffered for years with the trials of Alzheimer's, was in and out of the hospital many times in the beginning of the past year. Since I was the primary caregiver for him I was also in and out of the hospital with him those numerous times. I have to remind you all of something that I have told you in the past, and that is if you or a loved one is in the hospital or any other health care facility please make sure that you or they have an "advocate". This could be a family member, friend, or loved one who will be diligent in overseeing what is being done to/for the individual under care. I must say that there were numerous times that if I had not been there with my Dad overseeing what was going on, he would have left us a lot sooner. As it was I sat with him that final morning and as he tried to hang on with labored breathing I had to tell my father that it was alright to go. Within 2 minutes of saying those words to my unconscious father he let out his final breath.
We also went through the stressor that every successful parent must go through, the separation of our children from us. One is living in his own apartment, gainfully employed, engaged, and planning on going to law school nights in the fall. The other is in his second year of undergraduate school. So they are both essentially out of the house and my wife and I have had to regroup and figure out what we do now. This can be particularly hard for a Mother, who has invested her heart and soul into the proper care and nurturing of her children.
These are just two examples of the myriad of stressors that yours truly has experienced this past year. So, my "Think Right" was challenged over the past year. I gave you all two "Think Rights" in my New Years mailer that I sent out to you. If you didn't get a chance to read it I would like for you to have another opportunity to do so. Please open the two links that I have included and listen to the first and watch the second (Don't miss it because it is at the bottom of the page.) Then I want you to take a few minutes to think about both of them and maybe listen and watch them again.
I will commit to you that I will continue to practice and bring to you every "Think Right" piece that I encounter so that you can take control of your life and not feel as if you are a victim. Remember that you are never a victim; you can always change your perception, or make any other change that you need to in order to deal with any stressor. Remember also that you are always in control and in charge. Never surrender that control because you then become enslaved by your F.E.A.R. (False Expectations Appearing Real), anxieties, and negative "mind talk".
Now I have a little confession to make to all of our members. That is that with everything going on this past year my "Move Right" has suffered a little. Now don't misunderstand what I mean by this. My 'Segmental Move Right" has been Great. What I mean by that is that my Chiropractic Care has been consistent. I receive Chiropractic Adjustments weekly. Not only does this keep my spinal joints mobile and free, (which as I have said to you numerous times in the past is critical to your overall Health and Wellness, and exercise alone will not do.) but also keeps my nervous system functioning at peak performance.
No my friends I am here to tell you that my lapse has occurred in my routine daily "Exercise Move Right". I had been performing my exercises every morning, but alas I must admit that I have been remiss in my duties here, and would say that lately I have been lucky to get my exercises in 2 times per week.
So my commitment to you is that I will do my exercises a minimum of 3 times per week. I will attempt to do better but at a minimum I will do three days per week.
My last admission and commitment to you revolves around the Fourth Pillar of Health, the "Sleep Right" component. I must say that as a spouse, parent, physician, and educator I have pushed myself pretty hard to accomplish all the things in one day that I do. In all honesty to all of you I am writing this piece to our Health Hints Newsletter on January 1, 2011 at 6:30 a.m. Needless to say I didn't get too wild last night. I know and I teach that the human body requires a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 9 hours of daily sleep in order to maintain proper Health and Wellness. I have over the years robbed myself of this time of rest and rejuvenation. I have gotten away with it in large part due to the fact that I practice the other three pillars pretty well. I also know that as I "progress through life" I will not be able to do this as easily. Therefore, my commitment to all our Silver Inner Health Circle members is that I will do my best to secure 7 to 8 hours of sleep each and every night.
I have done my best to bare my soul to all of you. I want you to understand that I am committed to doing everything that I ask of you. I am also willing to say that I must work to refine my activities to be more "genetically congruent" with my overall Health and Wellness Paradigm that I not only Teach, and Believe, but also Practice.
I ask you all to hold my feet to the fire on everything that I have outlined to you. Don't hesitate to e-mail me here at the Center to see how I am doing. I also ask you to look at your own personal Four Pillars of Health and let me know how you are doing and what you plan to do this year to improve on them.
To those of you who will be joining me for our New Years Cleanse Event I know that you will be successful in changing your "Belief System", your body, your physiology, and your life.
I wish you all the most Health, Happy, and Prosperous New Year that you have ever enjoyed.
