Our Four Pillars of Health
We Are Now Building "T.E.A.M.S."

As with all Great things we must evolve and change. That change must always be for the better, an improvement in some way. Therefore it is with great pleasure that I inform all of you in my Inner Health Circle™ that we are changing. I have preached to you in each and every Health Hints™ Newsletter, in each of my Focus Health™ Seminars, and in both of my practices that the secret to Health and Wellness was for you to Eat Right, Think Right, and Move Right. The "Triad of Health" as I referred to it. Well it's time to update the model. Our new Rallying Cry will be that we need to "Think Right" ("T"), "Eat Right" ("EA"), "Move Right" ("M"), and our new addition to our Mantra is that we all need to "Sleep Right" ("S").

I was reminded that one of the things I have preached to my patients about over the last 25 years is that we all need to "Sleep Right" since "the body heals while we rest". Unfortunately we live in the most sleep deprived culture in the history of our planet. There are many reasons for this. For example, the use of artificial lighting was one of the things that allowed us to significantly extend our day. We used to arise and go to sleep based on the rising and setting of the sun. This would insure sufficient sleep hours. However now we can "create" daylight any time we like. We also have so many things (many of which are really unimportant) to accomplish in our stressed out lives) that we spend hours on insignificant tasks which should be devoted to rest and rejuvenation, and in so doing we are impairing our Health and Wellness.

I also came to the decision to incorporate "Sleep Right" into our mantra based on numerous research studies that I have read linking sleep deprivation to such things as Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, and Alzheimer's "Disease" (I prefer to call it a "Disorder").

So there you have it; we are all building T.EA.M.S. You begin this by doing your level best to walk the talk. "Think Right", read inspirational stories, watch inspiring shows, hang with and learn from inspiring people, and above all avoid negative people, situations, and things (like the news and TV in general). "Eat Right", listen to what we are professing, and read and learn more. Part of the reason I started the "Center" and began my "Health Hints" Newsletter (read archives) was because of all the confusion out there on the internet, and coming from "Health Gurus" whether they are in the health food store or on TV. Patients that I encountered in my practices, and friends, family and others that I would encounter, were so confused about what was a healthy lifestyle and what was not. I felt that I need to create some clarity. That is my purpose. You also must "Move Right". That is why we are beginning to incorporate more information on exercise with the expertise of Kim Fallon our resident "Personal Trainer", and Kerry Mack our resident "Massage Therapist", and the information I have shared with you regarding modern gentle Chiropractic Care. These are all methods that you can blend into your daily lifestyle that will allow you to "Move Right". And now we have our new addition to our "Triad of Health", which will be known as our "Pillars of Health". With the addition of The "Sleep Right" component we will be encompassing all of the current key components to Health and Wellness. It is equally as important as the other 3 pillars. Therefore I will be devoting time to researching and reporting to you the latest on sleep, rest, and health.

ontoTRTHINK RIGHT

When Our Parents Become Our Children

Many of you know that my father suffers from Alzheimer's disease (you also know that like most other "diseases" I believe that this is a "Disorder" that revolves around T.EA.M.S. but that is another story). This can be a challenging situation at best for the members of the millions of families around the globe that are touched by this condition. This is also where the "Think Right" comes into play. For those of you who are caught up in this situation, you must always remember that these are the cards that you been dealt through no fault of the individual who has been affected. My mantra during those times was: "He changed my diapers, now it's my turn to change his."

So for those of you who are dealing with this situation, and perhaps are feeling overwhelmed on a particular day, watch this
video.

Thanks for this piece goes to Catherine Liles, a faithful Inner Health Circle™ member. Thanks Cathy! Any other Inner Healther's out there who come across anything that you feel would help others in our "Circle" please forward the info off to
Kim here at "Health Hints" and she will get it off to me.  Dr. P.

EAT RIGHT

SOYING

The veterans in my Inner Health Circle™ have heard my rallying call for you to avoid the use of soy products. The reason is because we (male and female) need to reduce our estrogen load. We get estrogenic compounds from the foods we eat in the form of direct estrogens, from meats which were processed from animals that had hormone injections to enhance growth. We also receive an increased estrogen load from plastics (
xeno-estrogens). Another source of estrogenic compounds is from phyto-estrogens. A large percentage of phyto-estrogens in our western diet comes from Unfermented Soy products. I qualify this because there is NO Problem with you consuming SOME fermented soy products such as Miso, or Tempeh (even some soy sauce is O.K.).

So let's see every one of you work toward Reducing your Breast Cancer Risk in one more way, by AVOIDING Unfermented Soy Products in all forms.

MRMOVE RIGHT

My Confession to YOU!

I have experienced many things in life. Some of those experiences have been good and some not so good, at least on first blush. However, with each and every one of those "experiences" I have found an opportunity to Learn. I have to emphasize that many in the "outer world" would call these experiences problems, a term which I hesitate to even use with you in my Inner Health Circle™. As you all know by now we call those situations either "Challenges" or "Opportunities", read full article

CANCER CORNERontoCC

Curcumin and Breast Cancer

According to an article published in Natural News.com, researchers at the University of Missouri have found that the spice Curcumin could reduce the "risk of breast cancer in women exposed to HRT" (hormone replacement therapy).

As noted in this article, 6 million women in the U.S. use HRT to deal with the symptoms of menopause. Once again we see the medical mentality of chasing and treating symptoms, and not the underlying cause of the disorder. This in spite of the fact that HRT in and of itself will significantly increase a woman's likelihood of having a heart attack or stroke.

These researchers found that the Curcumin actually "decreased the incidence and reduced the numbers of progestin-fueled breast tumors ..."

So I want to see all of our Inner Health Circle™ T.EA.M.S. go out this week and purchase some of this wonderful Indian spice and begin using it liberally.
